Is equity release the right choice for you?
Equity release is becoming an increasingly popular choice for homeowners over the age of 55. Where wealth and investments are primarily tied up in the value of your home, equity release makes it possible to access some of that money so you can spend it on the things you would like.
Rather than having to downsize and move home in order to access some of the money in your home, the various equity release schemes make it possible to stay where you are and still benefit from a lump sum or a series of smaller payments. This means you can afford those home renovations, that new car or the holiday-of-a-lifetime that you’ve been looking forward to for so long.
The process of equity release is complex and will significantly affect your finances and the value of your home until you sell it or pass away. It’s essential that you take advice from an independent professional before undertaking such a big decision, which is where John Whyte Equity Release can help.
Testimonials
How much can I borrow?
The amount you can borrow through equity release actually depends on a range of different factors. The most important is the current value of the property, but it is also affected by the age and health of you and your partner, as well as any other factors that might be relevant including lifestyle choices and previous medical history.
Will I be eligible for equity release?
Some believe that equity release has complex eligibility requirements, however, this is not the case. To be eligible for equity release you need to be at least 55 years of age, and own a conventional property that is worth a minimum of £70,000.
